Bedford Library Reopens With Limited Hours
Books returned in drop boxes will be held for 72 hours before they're checked back in.

BEDFORD, NH — The public library building in Bedford reopened on Wednesday with limited hours for in-person use and new guidance intended to protect visitors and staff members from the new coronavirus.
The library is now open to walk-in patrons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Computers can be used by appointment only.
In a news release, the library said it has installed Plexiglas shields at service desks and posted reminders throughout the library reminding patrons to socially distance.

The release stated face coverings are also required for visitors and staff members, and high-touch surfaces and computers will be disinfected between uses.
Patrons, according to the release, are still invited to return used items in book drop boxes. Anything returned in a drop will be held in a 72-hour "quarantine" before they are checked back in.

The library will continue offering contact-free pickup and online access to e-books, audiobooks, online learning tools and more.
