Fun event aims to educate local children on bicycle safety.

Submitted by the Bedford Police Department:
In order to celebrate Bicycle Safety Month, the Bedford Police and Fire Departments will be hosting their 2nd Annual Bike Rodeo on May 19th from 10:00-12:00 in the upper parking lot of Bedford High School. Police and Fire Department personnel will be on hand to provide bicycle and motorcycle demonstrations while educating participants about bicycle safety.
The event will include obstacle courses for young riders and provide all community members with the opportunity to register their bicycles with the police department. A community policing booth will also be set up and will be providing informational pamphlets to senior citizens. Also on hand will be members of the University of New Hampshire Cyclist Team, who will be providing bicycle inspections and assisting with the obstacle courses. Free pizza and beverages will be provided. In addition, the police and fire unions will be providing free t-shirts for the first fifty children who attend. Please come out and join us for this fun filled event and be sure to bring your bicycles!
