Bedford Police Warn of Vacant Home Break-ins

PD also offers crime prevention tips.

Bedford Police have recently been investigating a number of crimes involving break-ins at vacant houses or homes under construction.

According to Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski, several vacant residences have been broken into by thieves who stripped the homes of copper plumbing, wiring and construction tools.

The Bedford Police Department, said Bryfonski, is urging realtors and/or businesses that handle vacant homes or homes under construction to contact the department's community policing division – at 792-1340 – with the locations of any vacant homes or construction sites. Additional patrols, he said, will be provided to the areas of those houses.
