Here are the top stories in Bedford today:
- Bedford is starting a Seed Library, and you can help. What's a Seed Library? Seed libraries give people a chance to try plants they might otherwise not grow, or even to "try out gardening" for the first time. The Bedford Public Library is starting a Seed Library and said if you have any extra or left-over vegetable, herb or flower seeds that you'd like to share with fellow gardeners, please consider donating them to help the Library get this program growing. Seed packets containing legal, non-invasive species may be dropped off at the Reference Desk during any library hours. You can read more here: (Press Release Desk)
- What are the best coffee shops in New Hampshire? WMUR viewers picked their favorite coffee shops in the granite state in a recent poll. Fans of Flight Coffee Company in Bedford said they had the best coffee, "hands down!" Another favorite coffee shop was the Pressed for Time Mobile Café in Derry. Viewers said Farmhouse Roasters in Salem offers a great variety of blends and flavors and features the best service, with fans of Shea's Caife & Tae in Londonderry saying they love the coffee, service and atmosphere. The Lucas Roasting Company in Wolfeboro grabbed the number one spot this time, including one fan who liked their cold brew. You can read more here: (WMUR)
- Residents are being targeted in a telephone scam, Bedford police said in a news release. The scam callers are claiming to be from AT&T, telling residents that "their phone service will be terminated within 24 hours" due to a compromised IP address, and they must "speak to a representative" to resolve the issue. If you receive a call from anyone asking for your personal information, money (especially gift cards), or anything else even if the call sounds official, police say to be aware of who may be on the other end of the line.
