This Is The Best Golf Course In NH, Say Pro Golfers Who’ve Played It
Courses in Bedford, Newbury, New Durham, New London, and Stratham are highlighted on the 2025-2026 list, according to a Golf Digest ranking.

NEW HAMPSHIRE — The Baker Hill Golf Club, a private course in Newbury, is the best golf course the Granite State offers, according to a new ranking developed by golfers.
Golf Digest deploys 1,700 professionally trained low-handicap golfers to continually assess the golf courses. The rankings are based on more than 80,000 evaluations more than 10 years, looking at criteria such as short options, challenge, design variety, conditioning, aesthetics, and character.
The golfers said Baker Hill provided a classic New England golf experience with views of the mountains. The course offers a great blend of uphill and downhill shots, delivering plenty of variety throughout.

There are plenty of other courses in New Hampshire that prioritize the aesthetics of their fairways and greens and test the golfers who play on them with a variety of challenges.
The Golf Club of New England in Stratham was ranked second this year — as it was last year. In third place, the Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club of New Durham. It was also third last year. Up a slot from fifth to fourth is the Manchester Country Club in Bedford. The reviewers said its strength was its designer, Donald Ross, who offers complexities that provide character. Lake Sunapee Country Club, a private club in New London, came in fifth.
