Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. Bedford book lovers and collectors, you may want to check out the Northern New England Book Fair to be held at 15 Loudon Road in Concord on Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4. You will find books, ephemera, maps, pocket books and postcards. The Abbot-Downing Historical Society will also be exhibiting an authentic Concord Coach during both days of the book fair! You can find out more about this event here: (Patch)
  2. Women entrepreneurs: "She Built This" will be having a Summer Gala and networking event for New England women entrepreneurs Friday, June 24, at 50 Emerson Road in Milford. Enjoy the afternoon outside at Hampshire Hills in Milford, New Hampshire, with hundreds of dynamic women "who get as excited by success as you do!" You will hear stories that will "instill you with confidence" and "propel you towards growth" in life and business. Find out more about the Summer Gala here: (She Built this)
  3. We may have a few hot days in early June, and the air "may feel warm," but meteorologists say that ocean water temperatures are still cold. Monday was an unseasonably hot day, but the water temperature was a cool 54 degrees. Local surfers, if you plan to go in cold ocean water, Surf Forecast.com advises wearing "a good quality spring wetsuit and optionally a hood, neoprene gloves and boots." (Surf Forecast)
