- Breakfast, anyone? If you enjoy eating breakfast at Tuckers in Bedford, you can also check out one of their other locations. They have restaurants in Hooksett, Merrimack, Concord, New London, and Dover. What about the Friendly Toast? We have our own Bedford location, and you will also find the Friendly Toast in Portsmouth New Hampshire, Burlington Vermont; and these Massachusetts locations, just south of the border: Back Bay in Boston, the Burlington Mall, Chestnut Hill, North Andover, and Danvers. In Bedford, we also have the popular Purple Finch Cafe and don't forget IHOP and the coffee shops around town! (wokq.com)
- Do you want to buy a small private island for a getaway at Lake Winnipesaukee? Hermit Island on Lake Winnipesaukee is for sale. It's the first time the 2.3-acre island, with 1,300 feet of waterfront and four slips, is for sale in 40 years. Hermit Island is being sold together with its mainland waterfront .25-acre lot with a garage. If you're looking for private island living with the added convenience of a mainland home this may be the right place for you! Find out more here: (Patch)
- If you're heading to the Seacoast over Memorial Day weekend, you may find less fresh local shellfish. On Wednesday, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and New Hampshire Fish & Game issued a "red tide" ban on Atlantic Coast shellfish. The ban was issued after blue mussels were found with high levels of neurotoxins. "Red tide," or paralytic shellfish poisoning, was found in mussels from the Hampton-Seabrook Harbor. Eating contaminated shellfish can be potentially fatal, officials said. State officials said they will continue to monitor and sample shellfish from the ocean through October. (Patch)
