Coca-Cola Park Contest Could Net Bedford $100K

Two Bedford park's among those eligible to be declared "America's Favorite Park."

The Coca-Cola Company has launched a massive Internet contest in search of "America's Favorite Park," and the winner will win a $100,000 recreation grant.

More than 35,000 votes have already been cast, and Mary E. Selvoski Field (20 County Road) and Benedictine Park (333 Wallace Road) are on the list.

There are several ways to vote for your favorite park this summer, including a Foursquare check-in, logging your daily run on MayMyFitness or clicking to vote online.

A Foursquare check-in counts for five votes while a MapMyFitness logging counts for 10.

Voting can take place once a day. Double vote days fall on June 21 and July 13-14, which is the last weekend to vote.

But the winnings don't end at first place. Second and third place parks in the contest will be awarded grants of $50,000 and $25,000 respectively. A fourth park will be chosen at random from the parks that finish 4th through 25th. That park will get a $15,000 grant.
