Here are the top 3 stories in Bedford today:
- A man from Bedford faces multiple charges after a multi-year crime spree across the state that involved drugs, burglary, and automobile theft. 43-year-old Randall P. Francis was arrested in Concord by a patrol officer on Jul. 19 after being found in possession of a stolen vehicle. Superior court records indicate that Francis has dozens of convictions and active cases from Manchester, Concord, Bow, and other communities across the state in the past two years. (Patch)
- Girl Expo 2022, sponsored by the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, will be held on Oct. 16 this year. The event will feature plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy, including rock climbing, meet-and-greets with princesses, and handmade ice cream. Registration is open now online. - A developer who proposed a new gas station on Route 101 in Bedford is considering options after the zoning board refused to hear his plans. The proposed 6,000-square-foot gas station would feature 12 pumps, a drive-thru coffee shop, and four EV charging stations — but according to zoning laws, gas stations are not currently allowed in the town's commercial zone. According to an email from an attorney representing Sullivan Development, the company that owns the land, the group is "weighing their options" and may consider appealing the decision.
