- The U.S. tried to have permanent daylight saving time in the 1970s, but after only two years of getting up to go to work and school in the dark, American voters changed their minds. Earlier this week, the Senate recently gave itself "a pat on the back" for voting without objection to make daylight saving time permanent, but when the same thing happened in the early 1970s, no one liked it. Americans may not like changing their clocks, but they disliked getting up for work and school in the dark for months even more. The change also didn't reduce energy use as everyone thought, so in 1974 Congress repealed the law. Only time will tell what will happen in 2022. You can read the full story here: (NHPR)
- Tickets for a cash raffle to help raise funds for The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire in Bedford are on sale until March 31. The winning ticket for the $5,000 prize will be drawn live on Facebook on March 31. You can read more about the raffle and this story here: (Bedford Patch)
- Construction on Route 101 will begin on Monday, March 21 in Bedford between Twin Brook Lane and Joppa Hill Road.
