Flood Watch in Effect for Southern NH this Weekend
Here are five things you should know in Bedford today.
1. No common achievement. After years of thoughtful planning, the Bedford Village Common is now ready for the public to enjoy. Members of the Bedford Village Common Development Committee and town officials, this Sunday, hold a grand opening celebration at ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. For more information, click here.
2. The weatherman says ... Showers early transition into a steady, at times heavy, rain in the afternoon through early Saturday as Tropical Storm Andrea drenches the East Coast. The forecasted high today, according to Weather.com, is 58 degrees.
3. Flood watch. The aforementioned anticipated heavy rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flood watch for much of southern New Hampshire, from noon today through 10 a.m. Saturday. Rainfall is likely to reach two to four inches, with five or more inches possible in some areas.

5. Roadwork roundup. Joppa Hill Road is closed to through vehicles from the Joppa Hill Athletic Fields north to Perry Road through June 28.
