  2. Ford is recalling over 2.9 million vehicles that are at risk of "roll-away crashes" due to a transmission cable problem that prevents the vehicle "from shifting into the correct gear," Ford said on its website Wednesday. The recall covers "certain 2013 to 2019 Escape, 2013 to 2018 C-Max, 2013 to 2016 Fusion, 2013 to 2021 Transit Connect, and 2015 to 2018 Edge vehicles." In documents posted online, Ford said if the cable detaches or decays, and a driver shifts into Park, the vehicle "may actually be in a different gear, allowing the vehicle to roll away." (ABC News)
  3. If you are looking for the Seed Library at The Bedford Public Library, in a recent Facebook post the BPL explained they had to move the seeds to "make room for Summer Reading and future displays." The Seed Library "now resides on its own table near the newspapers." Interested in learning more about the Seed Library for your garden? You can find out more here: (Bedford (NH) Public Library via Facebook)
  4. There's still time to sign up for the Monday Sea Glass Creations class at The Canvass Road Show. You can "create colorful sea glass art simply by using an assortment of shells, colorful pebbles, sand, and of course sea glass," said the Canvass Road Show in a recent Facebook post. They provide all materials you need, but say you can "bring your beach finds to add them into your masterpiece." Recommended for ages 10+. ( The Canvas Road Show via Facebook)

Are you a Bedford resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?

Bloomberg recently asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.

Thinking you can’t afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.

Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here’s why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2 percent when inflation is >3 percent
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164 percent (1995-2021)

To learn more, visit Masterworks.io, where Bedford Daily readers can skip the waitlist.
