Here are the top stories in Bedford today:
- Free burgers at McDonald's were offered for anyone who received a COVID-19 shot at the mobile vaccine clinic on Tuesday. The mobile vaccination clinic from the Department of Health and Human Services stopped for two hours at the McDonald's on Second Street in Manchester, just over the Bedford line. About a dozen people received the vaccine and had a free hamburger. Bo Brannen, of Webster, who hadn't had a chance to get his second dose, said it was a convenient way to get the vaccine. Michael Gambino, owner and operator of the McDonald’s restaurant, said two employees and a manager decided to get the shot. It was the sixth time that McDonald's teamed up with the state’s mobile vaccine van for a free clinic. You can find a list of mobile van and vaccine locations on the nh.gov website, and read the rest of this story here: (WMUR)
- Kohl's in Bedford may become everyone's new destination for shopping and beauty. In addition to dropping off your Amazon packages at the Kohl's store in Bedford, you will soon be able to visit a new 2,500 square foot Sephora cosmetics section. The beauty and makeup section will have “the look and feel of a freestanding Sephora,” Kohl’s said in a statement, adding it will carry a curated assortment of makeup, skincare, hair, and fragrance brands, as well as self-care products. There will be 400 new Sephora locations in Kohl’s stores across the country. The innovative move comes as Wall Street investors are looking to take over the popular department store. - A shout out to the Bedford High School girls and boys swim teams who earned two Division I championships on Sunday at Salem Workout Club. The Bedford boys and girls swim and diving teams triumphed earning first place scores in the competition. This is the third time that the Bedford girls team has won a Division I title, while also setting two state relay records. The boy's swim team captured its third overall state win over the favored Dover team. If you are wondering what will happen to the Bulldogs swim teams next year with four seniors graduating, coach Annie DeWitt, who coaches both Bedford teams alongside Lisa Pratte and volunteer coach John Chapler, said with 12 more fast kids coming up, the team is only going to get stronger.
