1. Nine people died in car accidents on New Hampshire roads this past week, and officials are asking drivers to slow down and to not get distracted while driving. State police said that speed and distracted driving were factors in many of the crashes. The crashes included a fatal accident in Portsmouth and two people died in a Bedford motorcycle accident on South River Road. State police, who are often the first to arrive at a crash scene, remind drivers not to rush, to keep their eyes on the road, and avoid any distractions, including cell phones. 2. A shout out to the Bedford High School girl's soccer team! The Bulldogs hosted the Wyndham Jaguars, and 28 minutes into the game, Bedford's Alana Morris gained the ball and passed it to Grace Crowder. It went to Ana Diaz, then back to Crowder who fired off "a perfect shot" for the first goal of the game. The Bulldogs went on to a 6-0 win after a well-played game. Bedford proud. (WMUR Manchester)
3. Ride your bike with the wind — and help save the planet. Join in the fun and "see the sights from a different perspective" on The Manchester Bike Tour on Sept. 11. The Manchester Conservation Commission event brings the community and neighboring towns together for a morning of recreation and a chance to bike along a 30-mile route (with an additional 10-mile option) to see interesting sights around the city.
