  1. Trick-or-treating in Bedford is from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 31. Here are a few tips from the Bedford Police Department to keep everyone safe this Halloween: "1) Go slow and use caution when driving. 2) Give yourself extra travel time due to increased pedestrian traffic. 3) Watch out for children crossing the street. 4) If you plan on drinking, plan on finding a sober designated driver." And, for trick-or-treaters: "1) Wear reflective clothing/strips and carry a flashlight or glowstick to be seen. 2) Children under the age of 12 should be supervised by an adult. 3) Always look both ways before crossing a street. 4) Be aware of the traffic around you. 5) Be respectful of other people's property. and 6) Parents, check your child's candy before they eat it."   2. "No deal" has been reached for Kayla Montgomery related to the alleged murder of her 5-year-old stepdaughter, Harmony, by the girl's father. But Montgomery's attorney, Paul Garrity, said a plea deal may be coming on Friday. Montgomery is facing several charges that include lying to a grand jury and welfare fraud for collecting benefits "while Harmony was not living with her." (Bedford Patch)
  3. Bedford needs volunteers to help at the polls! Election Day is coming, and Bedford is asking for residents to volunteer "a few hours of their time."
