Hollywood's latest summer superhero blockbuster, Man of Steel, has been in theaters for just over a week now, and while the movie has received primarily positive reviews, there is one question that has us, here at Bedford Patch, stumped.
It's a question that dates back to Superman's comic book origins, in fact, but it's especially prevalent today, given the circumstances that present themselves in the latest film featuring the last son of Krypton.

In Man of Steel, a young Clark Kent is depicted early in the movie with a face full of thick hair. Later, it's gone, and we want to know where it went and how it disappeared. After all, wouldn't Superman's scruff simply bend a razor or any other type of metal with which it makes contact?
As it turns out, we're not the only ones who have questioned this phenomenon.

While a simple Google search turns up countless blog posts and forums dedicated to the the subject, Gillette has even created a page on its YouTube channel where the well-known razor company asks everyone from Bill Nye the Science Guy to Jamie and Adam from Discovery Channel's MythBusters to share their theories as to how, exactly the Metropolis Marvel shaves his beard.
