  1. Here are a few events coming soon in our area: If you are interested in finding out how climate change will impact New Hampshire, an online meeting will be held on Monday, March 14 at 5:30 p.m. Two prominent experts that are co-authors of New Hampshire's most recent Climate Assessment Report will share an insider's view of the past, present, and future. To learn how to create items out of stained glass, a stained glass class will be starting March 14 at 9:00 a.m. The six week class in Windham runs through April 22. You can find out more and read about other upcoming events here: (Bedford Patch)
  2. The Bedford Town Council is actively looking for volunteers to apply to be a Resident Representative for the important environmental work of the PFAS Commission. The Commission investigates and analyzes the environmental and public health impacts of PFAS "forever" chemicals, like those released by the Saint Gobain Plastics Plant. Perfluorinated chemicals in the air, soil, and groundwater impacted Merrimack, Bedford, and Litchfield. "HB 737 states that this resident appointment be a member of a drinking water related environmental advocacy citizen organization which is not affiliated with any government or state agency." If you are interested, please submit a resume and letter of interest to the Town Manager, 24 N. Amherst Road, Bedford, NH 03110. You can read the full story here: (Press Release Desk)
  3. A Bedford, New Hampshire native is safe after leaving his Kyiv home in Ukraine last week. John Cavanaugh flew into Logan Airport Tuesday afternoon after a long journey, including a ride over the Ukrainian border in the cab of a tractor-trailer. Cavanaugh, 61, said in a telephone interview from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where he is temporarily staying, that he plans to raise money for humanitarian causes in Ukraine.
