Manchester Police, FBI Team Clear NH Missing Girl Search Site

Crews working at a Gilford Street home have all left the scene. Dozens of people worked looking for Harmony Montgomery, missing since 2019.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police and the FBI Evidence Response Team have cleared the area on Gilford Street where a search was previously underway. The search was at the last location missing 7-year-old Harmony Montgomery was seen.

Just after 2 p.m., the people working at the scene could be seen breaking down tarps and tents that had been in the yard and driveway of 77 Gilford St. Aerial photos in the morning showed several people working in the backyard — and two large tents set up close to the fence at the back of the yard.

As crews broke everything down, and more than 20 different vehicles began to leave the scene, large tarps previously used in combination with a ground heater, were piled in the driveway.

No crime scene tape or officers securing the scene were left by mid-afternoon. An aerial view showed a backyard with nothing but dirt left, and no one working in it.

The street was re-opened to traffic and the media shot video of the crews left. Many residents in the neighborhood have expressed concern about what a woman called a "media circus"bringing crews from several stations.

The coverage has grown to the international level with several overseas networks now following the story.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said in an email Monday that investigators had "concluded its multi-day search" at the home.

"Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time," officials said, while asking the public "to respect the privacy of the current residents" of the home and "to stay off of their property as the investigation continues."
