MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police Chief Allen Aldenberg held a news conference on Wednesday to announce an increase in the reward for finding Harmony Montgomery, 7.

Aldenberg thanked the community for coming together and helping support the investigation by donating money towards the reward. He said at the press conference the detectives working the investigation are dedicated and determined to solve this case.

More than 300 tips have come into the dedicated hotline set up that is staffed 24/7 by detectives, and assures people they will not go to voice mail. Aldenberg said detectives take the phones home with them so they can answer the phone and text as soon as they come in.

The reward that is now at $104,000, is made up of several donations from businesses, individuals, and Manchester CrimeLine looking to motivate people to provide tips. When asked if police are looking for information from any particular area, he reminded people this is a search not limited to any specific area.

The investigation of the missing girl is being covered nationwide and in some countries outside the United States. Aldenberg said if the information was needed for one specific geographical area, he would share that to bring focus to people in that area.

Police tried to find Harmony in November 2021 after her mother, Crystal Sorey, 31, of Devens, Massachusetts, wrote to Mayor Joyce Craig begging for help in finding her daughter. When police couldn’t find Harmony or her father, Adam Montgomery, after checking addresses they had for him, they referred the case to DCYF.

On Dec. 27, 2021, DCYF reported back to police that they couldn’t find the child, resulting in police opening a missing child investigation. Police held a press conference on Dec. 31, asking the help of the public in searching for the girl and clues surrounding the case.

Aldenberg said that he is extremely confident in the work that the Manchester Police Department has done in the investigation.

Adam Montgomery, the father of Harmony, was arrested and remains in custody on charges including felony second-degree assault. He was accused of striking Harmony, according to court documents.

Kayla Montgomery, the stepmother of Harmony and estranged wife of Adam, was arrested last week on charges connected to welfare fraud. The state has revised those charges, and she will appear in court for a bail hearing Thursday. She is currently held on $5,000 cash/surety bail which her lawyer says is inappropriate for the charges she faces, and her small criminal record.

Earlier in the week, Manchester Police with the assistance of the FBI Evidence Response Team searched a property on Gilford Street where Harmony was last seen. The search of the property has been completed, however, Aldenberg said he could not share if anything was found. He asked that people respect the privacy of the new owner of the property who has nothing to do with the Montgomery case.

Manchester Police Chief Allen Aldenberg stresses all the tips no matter how small or insignificant someone is should be called or texted to police. The dedicated and staffed tip line can be reached at 603-203-6060.
