Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. A man reported missing was found in a fatal crash in Bedford. New Hampshire State Police responded to a call Sunday morning about a vehicle off the road and found a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck at the bottom of an embankment on Interstate 293 South at the off-ramp to Route 101 West in Bedford. The operator of the vehicle, who died in the crash, was later identified as Christopher M. Brooks, 47, of Londonderry, New Hampshire. Brooks had been reported missing on Jan. 22 and an alert was sent to police departments across the state. Police said the pickup truck drifted off of the roadway and down the embankment before striking a tree. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact lead investigator Francisco Vicente at Francisco.A.Vicente@dos.nh.gov or 603-223-8745. (Bedford Patch)
  2. A new book reveals how the FBI finally "ran Ghislaine Maxwell to the ground." FBI agents were on a mission to track down one of the most wanted women in the world. Maxwell was on the run for a year traveling from Los Angeles, California to Colorado and Wyoming and even stopping near the Dunkin Donuts in Bedford, New Hampshire. She ended up in a secluded mansion hideaway deep in the woods of Bradford, New Hampshire where she was finally arrested on sex trafficking charges. You can read about the "dramatic game of cat and mouse" in the new book, "Ghislaine Maxwell," by Nigel Cawthorne, published by Gibson Square. You can read more about this story here: (Daily Mail)
  3. A shout out to Tyler York from Bedford, the director of productions, Big Brick Productions/GYK Antler, who was honored in the Union Leader's 40 Under Forty class of 2022 that included 23 men and 17 women. From our sponsor:

Last week, we told you about our new favorite non-alcoholic go-to — the refreshingly bitter drinks from our partners at Betera. They’re chef-created from natural botanicals, lightly effervescent and worthy of life beyond “Dry January.” We mentioned that their Ginger-Orange was excellent; we’ve since tried Elderflower-Lime and loved it as well — light and floral with the perfect amount of zing. We're converts.

Enough of you took Betera up on their 15 percent discount on first orders for Patch Daily readers that they’ve extended the offer for another week. Use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — try Betera here.
