Mr. Mac's In Manchester Donates To Hungry Kids
The macaroni and cheese place recently presented a $2,000 check for the Salvation Army's Kids Café program, which helps feed local children.
MANCHESTER, NH — Mr. Mac's Macaroni and Cheese recently donated a $2,000 check toward the Salvation Army's Kids Café program, which helps feed local children. The donation was part of the"Mac Gives Back initiative that started in May to help fight hunger. In addition to the monetary donation, a team from Mr. Mac's provided two dinners to the local kids.
As part of Mac Gives Back, the business donated $1 toward Kids Café with every Take-and-Bake order of its macaroni and cheese meal, from May through July. On Monday, Mr. Mac's team presented a $2,000 check to Salvation Army Capt. Michael Harper to support Kids Café in Manchester.
Queen City's Kids Café opened in 1994 and has become a safe place for local children to get a good meal and interact with friends, according to Mr. Mac's.

"No child in America should be hungry," said Patrick Cain, cofounder of Mr. Mac's. "When we learned about the Kids Café program right here in Manchester, we had to do something to help."
Mr. Mac's meals to the local kids included macaroni and cheese, salads and cookies. The children also enjoyed a hearty round of dodge ball, according to Mr. Mac's.

"We were all so moved by the genuine spirit of community and wellbeing this effort brought to us all," said Mr. Mac's cofounder Valerie Anderson. "It's more than just providing food, we truly live in a community that cares."
