Police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Quirin and Rimmon at about 11:35 p.m. The caller reported to police that they heard several gunshots followed by a vehicle leaving the area. Officers responded to the scene and discovered evidence that the building had been struck several times by gunfire. All occupants were checked and it was confirmed no one was struck.
Approximately 15 minutes after the Quirn Street call, police received another call in reference to a separate shots fired incident on Hevey Street
A caller reported hearing multiple shots. When officers arrived, they were able to locate numerous spent shell casings along with damage to the building consistent with it being struck by gunfire.
Shortly after the shooting incident on Hevey Street, officers learned that a man was brought to Catholic Medical Center, the victim of a gunshot wound.
Aldenberg said it was determined to be in relation to the Hevey Street incident.
The victim suffered what is considered a non-life-threatening injury. Officers cleared the rest of the building and confirmed no one else was injured. At this point, it is unclear if the Hevey Street incident and Quirn Street incidents are connected.
The Manchester Police Department is actively investigating all the shooting incidents, Aldenberg said, and there will be no further information at this time.
