New Art Gallery Opens Today at Bedford Public Library

1. Spice of Life. The deNicola Gallery Women's Caucus for Art 'Spice of Life' Exhibition opens today at the Bedford Public Library and runs through Aug. 22. The exhibit features a rich variety of artworks from the NH Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art. There will be an artist reception on  Wednesday, July 17 from 7-9 p.m.

2. The weatherman says ... Today's forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms, a high of 86 degrees and an overall 30-percent chance of precipitation.

3. Holiday heat wave?
 Mother Nature is bringing the heat this Fourth of July weekend, with temperatures hovering at and above 90 degrees each of the next four days. Here's a more detailed look at the upcoming forecast:

  • Thursday, July 4 - Mostly sunny with a high of 92 degrees and a 20-percent chance of rain.
  • Friday, July 5 - Partly cloudy with a high of 93 degrees and a 10-percent chance of precipitation.
  • Saturday, July 6 - Partly cloudy with a high of 90 degrees and a 20-percent chance of rain.
  • Sunday, July 7 - Partly cloudy with a high of 89 degrees and a 20-percent chance of precipitation.
4. Speaking of the Fourth ... There are no fireworks scheduled in Bedford, but Manchester has Fourth of July fireworks on Wednesday night and Amherst, Merrimack and New Boston have displays set for Thursday night. For a local listing and map of Independence Day festivities, click here.
