New Location for Bedford Antique & Classic Car Show
Here are seven things you should know in Bedford today!

1. Change is good. The 8th Annual Bedford Historical Society Antique and Classic Car and Truck Show is this Saturday and for the first time, it will be held at the Bedford Village Common between Meetinghouse Road and the Mobil gas station on Route 101 in Bedford. Preregistration fee is $10 at the car show. There is also a poker run, children's scavenger hunt, raffles, refreshments and more at this year's event. 2. That's all, folks! The Bedford Public Library's summer reading program wraps up today with a Finale Party with Wayne from Maine and Jimmy James, the Koonga Boonga Man from 1:30-2:15 p.m. at the Bedford Village Common Gazebo.
3. Bedford boys blazing a trail through Rhode Island. The Bedford 9- and 10-year-old Little League all-stars have pieced together back-to-back blowouts to move up the standings in the Eastern Regional tournament in Cranston, RI. They play Portsmouth, RI today for an opportunity to move on to the elimination round of the tourney. For more on the team, click here.
4. The weatherman says ... The forecasted high today may be a beautiful 80 degrees, but there is a 50-percent chance of rain with the possibility of severe thunderstorms. The overnight low is 70 degrees with the chance of rain rising to 80 percent in the evening.
5. Gettin' thrifty! Visit the Brookside Thrift Shop today for a fantastic selection of clothing. Do you need something for those hot August days or do you need something for school? They have it all - blouses, polo shirts, skirts, dresses, pants, shoes, sneakers. They also have a great selection of household items, books, games, and so much more. Stop by and tell them that you saw this on the Bedford Patch calendar of events, and visit the garden next door before or after you visit the thrift shop, which is located behind Brookside Congregational Church at 2013 Elm Street in Manchester.
6. IAABO Basketball Officials Apprentice Class. The International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) Metro Board 117 is seeking interested basketball officials for its entry level apprentice program. Classes begin on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 6:30pm @ Alvirne High School in Hudson NH. Classes will run on consecutive Mondays culminating in a written test in November and floor test in February 2014. Successful candidates will be certified by IAABO and eligible to referee high school basketball games in the State of New Hampshire. The cost of the school is $125.00 which includes a rule book, instruction and computer software.
