  1. Bedford family skiers, Maine has a new downhill ski area, and it's one of the area's oldest. The Quarry Road Cross Country Ski Area was previously the Colby College Ski Hill that closed about 50 years ago. It may not be a large slope, but it makes up for it with easy access, low prices, and a great family and community spirit. After more than 10 years of planning and fundraising, the new ski slope is filled with skiers and snowboarders. It's a "healthy, family-friendly outdoor activity," said Matt Skehan, director of Waterville's Parks and Recreation Department. You can read the full story here: (WMUR)
  2. Check out the latest Bedford area real estate roundup. Real estate is always changing, and you never know when the right house hits the market. Market prices are still high, so this may be a perfect time to list your home if you were thinking about making a move. Check out new listings in the Bedford area: (Bedford Patch)
  3. A shout out to Bedford's Ryan M. McCarthy. The Clarkson University sophomore, who is an honors program student and biology and psychology major, will be presenting her research in Philadelphia at the Experimental Biology conference in April. McCarthy's research findings suggest that intense walking causes greater blood flow to the legs, decreasing by the same amount how much blood flows to the arms so "the oxygen demands of walking muscles can be met. "The research is significant because it confirms the relationship between the heart and blood flow in an experimental setting." (Clarkson University News)
