NH Kayaker Drowns In Manchester's Piscataquog River

New Hampshire authorities said a 32-year-old woman drowned while kayaking in the Piscataquog River in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, NH — A woman drowned while kayaking in Manchester in the Piscataquog River, authorities said Friday. The 32-year-old, whose name was withheld pending notification of her family, was found in 14 feet of water, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Police were called to the river Thursday at about 9 p.m.

"(The woman) was kayaking with three other adults in separate kayaks when she capsized and disappeared under the water," state police Lieutenant Crystal McLain said in a statement. "A woman on shore witnessed the capsizing and saw the victim’s companions unsuccessfully attempt to find her."
