NH Man Sexually Assaulted Teen At Abandoned Vermont Motel

New Hampshire authorities said Kurt Carpentino took a 14-year-old to an abandoned Vermont motel for "criminal sexual activity."

CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire jury on Monday convicted a Manchester man of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at an abandoned Vermont motel last year. Kurt Carpentino, 34, was found guilty of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity following a trial in U.S. District Court in Concord. Carpentino faces 10 years to life in prison. He will be sentenced in September.

“There is no place in our community for those who attempt to rob children of their innocence," U.S. Attorney Scott Murray said in a statement. "I am grateful for the courage of the young victim, as well as the hard work and dedication of the investigators and prosecutors who secured this guilty verdict.”

Murray added, “Those who prey on children will be prosecuted aggressively."
