NH Police: Man Yanked Woman's Hijab At Restaurant

Manchester, New Hampshire, police asked the public's help identifying a suspect who yanked a 25-year-old woman's hijab at a restaurant.

MANCHESTER, NH — Police in Manchester are asking the public's help identifying a man who yanked at a woman's hijab as she was eating lunch with her coworkers at a restaurant. The incident happened at The Farm restaurant Friday, June 22, at about 4:45 p.m. One of the woman's coworkers captured photos of the man (pictured) and he is wanted for assault, police said.

"The victim stated she was seated at a table with her co-workers ... when an unknown man walked past her and pulled on her hijab," Manchester police said in a statement. "The man did not say anything to her prior to the incident, but pulled on the hijab long enough to cause discomfort to her chin and head. The man released the hijab and walked toward the bar, but left the area when confronted by her co-workers."

The victim is 25 years old, police said.
