Op-Ed: Joe Fahey, The Right Choice For Bedford Town Council
Ron Carvalho pens a personal endorsement for Fahey.
Press release from Ron Carvalho:
March 13, 2023
With the important position of Town Council member up for vote in the March 14 elections, it is incredibly important that we choose someone who best understands not only the needs of Bedford, but the importance of fiscal policy. As a resident of Bedford for over 20 years Joe Fahey understands the needs of the community and after retiring from a career in finance, he is ready to provide the town the benefits of his decades of experience. Over his twenty years as a resident Joe and his wife were volunteers at youth organizations including Boy Scouts (Troop 5), CASA, and the Bedford Bobcats, Bedford’s local Special Olympics program. Joe’s motives for running for Town Council are motivated by the needs of the town and not by personal political ambition. With priorities on Police, Firefighters and EMT’s, Joe understands the near and long term needs of the community where his expertise in long term fiscal planning and negotiating disparate views will come in handy. Joe’s website https://joefahey.net explains his well thought out positions on upcoming issues; a breath of fresh air from murky positions presented by his opponent on the opposite side of the aisle in our last election.

The contrasts are rather clear; do we want a Town Council member who raised a family in Bedford, spent twenty years as a taxpayer and home owner who understands the importance of fiscal prioritization, volunteered in support of youth and Exceptional Family member organizations, a person with no political ambitions besides serving the town? Or do we want a two-year resident with a background in politics and political ambition, an individual who was most recently the Peterborough Democratic Town Chair? For me I’m voting with the long-term resident with experience and without long term political ambitions, vote Joe Fahey.
