2 New Retail Stores To Open In Bedford

BEDFORD, NH — Two new retailers are joining Bedford this month. The outdoor and active apparel retailer Sierra and the home fashions retailer Homesense are set to open at the Bedford Mall plaza on Thursday, Sept. 26. Both stores are part of the TJ Maxx, Marshall's and HomeGoods brand family.

Sierra, a growing outdoor off-price retail chain, has one other New Hampshire location, in Nashua. It offers merchandise at prices that are 20 to 60 percent below full-price retailers, according to company officials.

"Sierra provides excellent value and selection on top brands and other high-quality apparel, footwear, and gear for your whole family's active and outdoor lifestyle needs," said Gennifer Hobbs, Sierra's vice president and marketing director. "We believe everyone can participate in outdoor and fitness activities and want our products to be accessible to everyone who walks through our doors or shops with us online."

Also opening on Sept. 26 is Homesense, which offers high quality home merchandise in an experimental retail environment, company officials said.

"The Homesense experience offers customers a space to discover a massive selection before taking it home, from rows of couches to color-coded walls of throw pillows," said Emily Trent, senior vice president and marketing director for Homesense. "Shoppers will always see an exciting assortment of quality merchandise at fantastic prices, and can expect to be inspired by bold, statement-making pieces, without breaking the bank."

Bedford will be the third Homesense location in the Granite State, with other locations including Portsmouth and the newly opened store in Salem.

Both Sierra and Homesense in Bedford will be located at the Bedford Mall, at 73 South River St., being located in the same plaza as Kohl's, Marshalls, Staples and Famous Footwear. The plaza is located near the Main & Market commercial center currently under development, with new additions such as Trader Joe's and the Friendly Toast restaurant having recently opened.

Both grand opening celebrations for Sierra and Homegoods will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with storewide giveaways, music and more at Sierra, and "amazing values" on furnishings and home accessories at Homesense, company officials said.

Both stores are also hiring full- and part-time.
