Serious Crash Involving Ambulance in Bedford

UPDATE, 10:30 p.m.: According to a Bedford Police press release, the crash on New Boston Road reportedly occurred in the area of Tirrell Hill Road and involved a Bedford ambulance and a 2011 Buick Lacrosse. The occupants of both vehicles were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

New Boston Road was closed for about four hours while the accident was investigated.

UPDATE, 7:10 p.m.: Bedford Police said the accident on New Boston Road at McAllister has been cleared. New Boston Road is now opened to all traffic.

New Boston Road at McAllister Road in Bedford will be closed for an extended period of time due to a motor vehicle accident, according to Bedford Police. 

Motorists are being urged to seek alternate routes.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at New Boston and Holbrook roads, according to emergency radio communications. The crash reportedly involved a civilian vehicle and a Bedford ambulance, and the civilian vehicle reportedly went over an embankment.
