Here are the top stories in Bedford today:
- February is a snowy month making it an ideal time to go snowshoeing in New Hampshire. It's a fun, family-friendly and budget-friendly activity that everyone can enjoy. You can go snowshoeing on woodland trails in Bedford for free, or travel to the mountains where ski areas offer groomed trails for cross-country skiers and snowshoeing for a minimal fee. If you just want to try it out, you can rent snowshoes from a local sporting goods store, or you can buy snowshoes for about $40 – $150, including poles. Favorite places to go on a snowshoeing adventure are walking trails in Bedford, around Lake Massabesic in Manchester, and the Audubon Center in Auburn. For snowier trails, you will find many ski resorts in the White Mountains that offer scenic treks in the forest on professionally groomed trails. - If you or someone you know is looking for a job, employers in the Bedford area are offering competitive pay, benefits, and new work opportunities. Resinwerks in Nashua, a company that creates floor coatings "that are safer for the environment," is looking to hire a customer service representative that pays $20 - $30 per hour and if you are interested in the building industry, Harvey Construction in Bedford is looking for project management. - Bedford's Kathleen Bemiss announced that she is running for one of the three open seats on the Bedford Town Council. The town election will be held on March 8 at the Bedford High School. Bemiss, her husband Scott, and three children have lived in Bedford for 26 years.
