Here are the top 3 stories in Bedford today:

  1. Scientists and lawmakers say that a New Hampshire company that contaminated the groundwater wells in Merrimack, Bedford has polluted a greater area than they acknowledged with "forever chemicals." Saint-Gobain executives admitted responsibility for PFAS contamination from the plant in a 2018 settlement agreement with the state "for a 65-square-mile area around the plant." Court documents also revealed "a previously unknown program" in 2006 that tested the blood of employees for elevated levels of PFOA, according to a Boston Globe article. Since the agreement, state officials have found "hundreds of wells beyond the boundary" with PFAS levels that exceed state limits, the Globe article reported. 2. Bring a beach chair and enjoy Tuesday Concerts on The Green in Amherst, where the Bedford Big Band will be performing. The Bedford Big Band is a 19-piece Big Band that performs a range of swing, including "popular jazz and Big Band standards, Latin rhythms, waltzes, R&B, as well as some exciting contemporary arrangements." You can see them perform on Tuesday at Concerts on the Green on 2 Main St. in Amherst on July 26, at 7 p.m. (Bedford Big Band)
  3. There's a new Ocean Wave "Resin Art" workshop in Bedford today! Learn the art of resin and paint pouring to create your own custom tray on Tuesday, July 26, at 6:30 p.m. at The Canvas Roadshow, on 25 South River Road in Bedford. Create an ocean wave or choose your own colors and create an entirely original creation. The class size is limited to 12. As resin takes time to dry completely, you can leave it and pick it up later. And you can bring your own wine and beer. (Bedford Patch)
