  1. Kindhearted residents of Manchester and Bedford have raised $100,000 to help a Manchester family seriously injured in a fatal car crash. The Manchester family lost a son and brother in the crash in Albany on Friday. Gabriel Simpson, 8, died in the accident. His mother, Christine, his dad, Kyle, and brother Jeremiah, 11, are hospitalized with serious injuries. Melinda Paradi, who started the GoFund Me page, wrote, “It's an understatement to say there's a long road ahead for this family. (Bedford Patch)
  2. This year, voting will be conducted with extra care. The state announced they assigned election monitors for the upcoming midterm elections for Windham, Bedford and Laconia. Attorney General John M. Formella and the Secretary of State’s Office announced they will send Eugene van Loan to Windham, Eric Forcier to Bedford, and Bonnie Winnona MacKinnon to Laconia Ward. The State Primary Election in Bedford will be on Tuesday, Sept. 13. (NH Journal)
  3. A stranger with a metal detector miraculously found a woman's missing ring lost in the sea. Francesca Teal told The Boston Globe that she lost her great-grandmother's wedding ring in North Hampton when she was "tossing a football" with her husband this month at North Beach in Hampton. The 29 year old and her husband searched in the water "for hours." She posted a plea for anyone with a metal detector to help find the ring on Facebook. Lou Asci, 60, of Marshfield, "put on a wetsuit and headlamp" and searched for the ring with his metal detector for two days, without luck. On the third day, he found it! (bedfordgazette.com)
