3. No common achievement. After years of thoughtful planning, the Bedford Village Common is now ready for the public to enjoy. 4. Being a good neighbor. Anheuser-Busch Brewery employees are volunteering today, June 5, with the New Hampshire Rivers Council to help clean up McQuesten Brook.
5. On this day ... June 5, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt took the United States off the gold standard, according to History.com. Some people, including Ron Paul, have argued for a return to the Gold Standard to help America get its fiscal house in order.
