Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. New Hampshire home buyers are "struggling with home affordability" with rising interest rates, according to a new report. New Hampshire’s housing affordability index for a single family home or condominium dropped to "an all-time low" in September, according to two new reports. Chris Ware, owner/broker of the Ware Group, affiliated with Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan in Bedford, said the real estate market is “slowing down greatly and a lot has to do with interest rates." (The Laconia Daily Sun)
  2. A shoutout to Bedford's Joelle Wilensky, who earned the Girl Scouts' highest award for promoting music education at her school. Joelle earned the prestigious Gold Award for starting a new program at her school to help students "learn about opportunities in music," and she also started a school varsity band, seeing a need for more music programs at her school following the pandemic. To earn a Gold Award, the program's highest rank, a Girl Scout has to participate in at least 80 hours of community service. Congratulations! (WMUR Manchester)
  3. Modern Bride is having a Trunk Show in Bedford from Oct. 21-29, featuring designer collections from Kenneth Winston and Ella Rosa. Call to book an appointment! (603) 472-4933. (All Events)
