Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- Ice flying off of car roofs smashed windshields in New Hampshire on Saturday. State Police said they responded to more than 20 calls of vehicles struck by flying ice and snow from the car in front of them after drivers hadn't removed it from the top of their car after Friday's snow and ice storm. Snow and ice flew off car roofs as they traveled on roads throughout New Hampshire as temperatures warmed, including highways in Bedford and Manchester. No serious injuries were reported, but many windshields were damaged, according to state police. Drivers could face fines up to $500 for their first offense if snow or ice is not removed from the roof of their car. You can read more about this story here:(CBS Boston)
- Police are asking for the public's help to find a vehicle that was stolen from a Londonderry 7-11 store Sunday night when a woman got into a running car and drove it away. Surveillance video shows what police think is a woman driving away while the car's owner went into the store. When police arrived, there was no sign of the Toyota RAV-4 with Connecticut plates. An officer spotted the car near Exit 5 about two hours later and chased the vehicle, but the pursuit was called off after the driver avoided spike strips and got onto 93 south. If you were in the area that night and have any information, please contact police. You can read more about this story here: (WMUR)
- A shout out to The Ross A. Lurgio Middle School Lions of Bedford who scored 89 points to win 6th place in The Tri-County League Wrestling Tournament at Pelham Middle School on Sunday.
