BOSCAWEN, NH - The NH State Veterans Cemetery has implemented significant changes due to continuing health concerns for visitors and cemetery staff due to the Coronavirus Pandemic

Effective April 7, 2020, the following guidelines are in effect for all interment services at the NH State Veterans Cemetery:

  • A maximum to two (2) guests and one (1) clergy can observe the interment. Funeral Directors, guests, and clergy will remain in their vehicles.
  • A cemetery representative will meet the funeral director and guests in front of the administration building and lead vehicles to the burial location.
  • The casket or urn will be removed by cemetery staff and placed directly on the lowering device or at the inurnment location.
  • After the casket or urn is placed, if applicable, the clergy will be called to the casket (or urn) to provide a very brief blessing and immediately return to his/her vehicle.
  • Cemetery staff will then lower the casket or urn into the ground.
  • At this point, the funeral director, guests, and clergy will depart the area and cemetery staff will complete the burial.
  • Family and friends are welcome to visit or place flowers at the burial site after 4:00 PM on the day of interment.
