A Deadly Dog Attack, NH’s Best Sandwich Shops, And A Brewer Convicted Of Fraud: 2025 Patch Year-In-Review
Breaking news in New Hampshire, which included several dead bodies discovered and a country club shooting, was popular with readers in 2025.

CONCORD, NH — It was another busy year for news in New Hampshire in 2025, including on Patch news and community websites.
As of Wednesday, Patch has 216 sites in the Granite State: 13 “legacy” sites covering 14 communities that started in Concord in May 2011; a statewide news hub for news partner content and other things; and 202 relatively new newsletter sites our company has been unveiling across the United States. At some point in 2026, Patch will have a newsletter for every New Hampshire community and tens of thousands of other communities across the United States. Needless to say, while there has been a lot of bad press about local media, Patch is very excited about the future.
Like most years, I took some time off during the holiday season but still jumped on, here and there, to post a few things. I also spent some time taking a deep dive into the data to examine some of the popular stories of the year.

Not surprisingly, breaking news brought readers to our sites, and those stories were some of the most read in 2025. There were some other interesting posts — including the former brewery owner who was convicted of fraud, which was a popular story of the year, as well as two sandwich shops that made a national best-of list.
Overall, page views were down a bit compared to previous years, about 10.7 million this year. Activity on Facebook is still a major driver of traffic to Patch in New Hampshire — about a third. But the more they tinker with things to benefit their company, the more it often harms news outlets like ours. You can see it in your own feed: Few things you follow or like are coming up. Instead, many of the things they want you to click on are in your feed. This, frankly, defeats the entire purpose of having an account, right? You want to see the things you’re following in one place. This is one of the reasons I spend less time on Facebook, even though I’ve been active on the platform for many years.

One way of not missing Patch coverage is to subscribe to the free community newsletter, so all the news is directly sent to your inbox. About a third of Patch traffic in New Hampshire comes from emails and people clicking directly on the sites, while another third is from search.

Bubbling Under the Top 10
Several interesting stories did not make the Top 10 but almost did.
Most of these stories had between 20,000 and 30,000 page views.
The top elementary schools in New Hampshire post, always a popular read, would have been 11th this year (if our Top 10 went to 11). There was also the very strange story, something that has not been resolved, of the woman found dead inside a porta-potty in Nashua. Another popular story was the manhunt for Schleiden Meneide, a former Hooksett police officer who was accused of assaulting a woman and threatening to kill her child in July. He was arrested in Massachusetts. A Concord woman, who was repeatedly arrested and then accused of 60 counts of stalking and breach, was also a popular post with readers. A fire that destroyed a popular Bedford eatery, Merrimack fire and rescue teams finding a body in the mighty Merrimack River, and information released by police about bodies found in the parking lot of Concord’s Walmart, the most popular read of the year, were also among the top posts of the year.
Thank You, Again
I’ll end this year-end note with a thank you to all of you for reading everything we do.
Really, truly, we appreciate it. Thank you, too, for all the tips sent it. I’d also like to say thank you to all of our news partners: Jeffrey Hastings, who covers a lot of breaking news in the southern part of the state, as well as InDepthNH, NH Journal, and New Hampshire Bulletin, which pad our political coverage so I can spend time producing other things for readers.
Have a safe, prosperous, and Happy New Year!
