DOT Employee Hit By Ice That Flew Off Truck On 101
This driver was almost killed because another person didn't clear the snow off their truck. Police are looking for the offender.
RAYMOND, NH — Regardless of Jessica's Law, which requires New Hampshire drivers to clear snow off their car before hitting the road, a piece of ice flew off a box truck and injured a driver on Jan. 31. It was around 3:30 p.m. when a box truck was headed west on Route 101, state police say.
The victim, a New Hampshire Department of Transportation employee, was on the job, about five car lengths behind the truck when the ice sheet crashed through his windshield, police say.
The ice hit the driver's head "causing a significant laceration," police say, adding there may be other injuries. He was taken away in an ambulance.
