My primary objective while on the Hampton Zoning Board will be to collaborate with applicants seeking variances which align with local ordinances and are feasible.
Recognizing Hampton's distinct history and evolution over 380+ years, a "one-size-fits-all" approach may not always be suitable for this unique environment. While making allowances for property owners to address and enhance their homes is necessary, it is equally important to guarantee that granted variances positively impact the community, rather than introducing new issues that may require future resolution. Thus, smart zoning is wise and very important.

Over the past few years, I have shared my concerns and suggestions for improvement with the Planning Board about some of Hampton's zoning ordinances. Following a relevant Master Plan as a guide with reorganized and updated zoning ordinances is smart and imperative for present day Hampton and its future. Zoning ordinances should be clear and easy to understand, so that residents and business owners can understand how they could be affected.
With a career spanning over 43 years in engineering, problem-solving and technical management at Texas Instruments and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, I have developed a strong ability to analyze complex issues and find practical solutions. Additionally, my 60+ years of summering at Hampton Beach and becoming a devoted resident since 2013, I bring a unique blend of local life experience and engineering expertise to the Zoning Board.
As a graduate of Northeastern University's esteemed engineering programs, I possess the skills to understand the technical aspects of construction, zoning, and land use. My experience in managing technical escalations has taught me the importance of clear communication, collaboration, and engagement.
I will foster responsible growth and smart zoning while preserving Hampton's unique character and charm for future generations. Let's work together to create a vibrant and sustainable community that benefits everyone.
