Hampton Police Investigating Shooting On Ocean Boulevard; J And K Streets Closed
Reports online say shots were fired around 8 30 p.m. on Tuesday night; suspect in custody in Deerfield, state police say.

HAMPTON, NH — Hampton police are investigating a shooting on Ocean Boulevard on Tuesday night.
Around 8:30 p.m., one person was shot and evaluated by Hampton fire and rescue teams. According to reports, the area between J and K streets is closed.
Around 9 p.m., the Scanner Alerts Media Group reported police activity in the area of Route 43 and Old Candia Road in Deerfield, which it said was due to a search for a suspect in the Hampton shooting. New Hampshire State Police confirmed at 10 p.m. they were looking for an armed suspect in Deerfield, warning residents to stay indoors and to lock windows and doors.

About 10 minutes later, state police said residents within a two-mile radius of 23 Old Candia Road were being asked to shelter in place until further notice.
Just before 11 p.m., state police announced a suspect was taken into custody in Deerfield.
