One of North Hampton's most famous residents and "America's Master of Light Verse" is the subject of a brand new stage production in the area.
Ogden Nash, who spent his summers on Little Boar's Head with his family, is shown in a new light in Pontine Theatre's upcoming "Pretty Halcyon Days: On the Beach with Ogden Nash."
BroadwayWorld.com has reported that the Cafe-Lyceums Series program "explores the ways in which Nash's life on the New Hampshire seashore influenced his poetry, lending insight into the man, his character, and his ideas about family, society, and nature" using examples from Pontine's "original staging of his poems."
The production is created and performed by M. Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers, the co-artistic directors of the Portsmouth theater.
"Pretty Halcyon Days: On the Beach with Ogden Nash" will run from Feb. 6 through Feb. 9 at Pontine's West End Studio Theatre at 959 Islington St. in Portsmouth.
