North Hampton Man Charged With Murder In Newmarket After Getting Bagged On DUI Charges In Exeter
Reports: Stephen Field was accused of killing Kyle Fritz Monday night and was arrested after fleeing a crash scene following the shooting.

CONCORD, NH — A man from North Hampton was arrested on a murder charge on Monday night, accused of killing a woman in Newmarket, after a crash near Route 101 in Exeter.
Newmarket police were sent to a home on Maple Street just before midnight on Monday for a welfare check, Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, said. When they arrived, they discovered Kylie Fritz, 38, dead on the floor, the victim of an apparent gunshot wound.
About 20 minutes before, Stephen Field, 39, of North Hampton, was accused of crashing a vehicle in the area of North Hampton Road and Route 101 in Exeter. When police arrived at the crash scene, they found the vehicle abandoned. Officers called in the department’s K-9 unit and began searching the area, Chief Stephan Poulin of the Exeter Police Department said. K-9 “Bobo” located “a male subject that was determined to be the operator and sole occupant of the crashed vehicle near the overpass,” he said.

“Statements made by Field prompted Exeter officers to contact the Newmarket police and request a welfare check at a residence in their town,” Poulin said, which led to the discovery of Fritz being shot and killed.
A warrant was issued for Field’s arrest on murder and falsifying physical evidence charges, both felonies, and he was arrested. He is being held without bail. Field is due in Brentwood Circuit Court for arraignment on the murder and evidence charges on Wednesday and on the crash and drunken driving charges on Aug. 7.
No information was released about the relationship between Field and Fritz. But according to a post on Fritz’s Facebook site, it appeared she and Field were dating sometime in early May.
