  1. A man is fighting for his life after he ran back inside a burning home here in Manchester on Monday evening to save others. Officials said the fire broke out in a multi-family home on Walnut Street around 6 p.m. In one video taken, part of the building can be seen collapsing. In addition to the burning building, officials said several surrounding buildings had to be evacuated. All residents escaped unharmed, according to officials, except for the man who ran back inside; after being rescued, he was flown to a Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries. (WHDH)
  2. Retired federal judge and Manchester native Norman Stahl has died at the age of 92. The honorable Norman Stahl was appointed by President George H.W. Bush in 1992 to serve in the U.S. Court of Appeals first circuit and served on that court until his retirement in 2020. (WMUR)
  3. A Vermont man charged with the Manchester mall kidnapping of a woman and her child in 2019 is facing a federal trial. Everett Simpson faces two counts of kidnapping and two counts of stealing a car after authorities say he left a Bradford drug abuse treatment center in 2019, stole a car, and traveled to Manchester where he then randomly kidnapped a woman and her five-year-old child outside a mall and brought them to a White River Junction hotel. At the hotel, he sexually assaulted the woman in front of the child. He was later arrested in Pennsylvania. The state of Vermont settled a civil lawsuit in the case related to why state and local police weren’t notified when Simpson — a known felon with a criminal record — walked away from the drug treatment facility in Bradford.
