- In a historic bipartisan voice vote, The New Hampshire House of Representatives passed its own version of the state biennial budget on Thursday. The budget will raise Medicaid rate increases, including an increase in targeted aid to public schools, add new curbs on gubernatorial emergency powers, remove a proposed expansion to the “education freedom account” program, and more. It was the first time in recent history that the House passed a budget by voice vote — and not a contentious roll call vote — according to online records dating back to 1989. (Manchester Ink Link)
- A search party to locate the body of Harmony Montgomery led investigators to wetlands in Massachusetts on Friday morning. Five-year-old Montgomery, murdered in December 2019, was not reported missing until 2021. Her father, Adam Montgomery, was charged with her murder in October. Adam Montgomery was charged with second-degree murder for recklessly causing the death of a person under the age of 13. According to Attorney General John Formella, Adam Montgomery struck his daughter repeatedly with a closed fist around Dec. 7, 2019, and is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Correction.
