I have some breathing problems so I purchased a good humidifier. Two winters age I heard my stove beeping. upon investigation I discovered the filters were clogged with white stuff. Had no idea why but I cleaned them and that was done. A few days later my new smoke detector was erroring out so I turned it off and then the one downstairs did the same thing. Returned them and got new ones. Also have a small air ionizer and the area around it was covered with a white dust. ok, I was scratching my head
I was going through about 3 gallons of (tap) water a day (ok distilled is better but too heavy to bring that many into the house). Bottom line, I was watching my humidistats to get the humidity up to 35% .
The problem is Merrimack water and I was told they had no idea why this was happening and they have their water tested (or should I say their salt water 🫢). Does any one else have this problem or are there any suggestions!? Thanks
