Eagle Scout Project Creates Kiosk at Veteran’s Park Boat Ramp
Boy Scout Greg Gilbert's Eagle Scout Project will provide boaters with information about how to prevent the spread of milfoil in Naticook Lake.
The Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department would like to congratulate Boy Scout Greg Gilbert, who recently earned his Eagle Scout Award.
Greg’s Eagle Scout Project consisted of the construction of an information kiosk to be located at the boat ramp of Veteran’s Park. Greg chose to do this project because he saw the need for a kiosk to post important information about the lake and bring awareness to the public concerning the invasive plant species, Milfoil, growing in the lake. You will find a map of the lake, boating rules and information on milfoil posted in the kiosk.
Through fundraising efforts, which included a spaghetti dinner, Greg was able to raise enough money to build his proposed kiosk. He oversaw a large group of volunteers that helped build and raise the beautiful kiosk that stands at the entrance of the boat ramp.
