Firefighters Make Quick Work of Blaze, Saving Home
The fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The fire was reported at 6 Spaulding Drive, according to emergency radio broadcasts. The first crews to arrive at the scene saw heavy fire burning up the exterior of the left side of the home and ordered a working fire alarm be dispatched, which called in mutual aid from Nashua and Manchester.
The homeowners had already evacuated the home and firefighters began attacking the fire. Suppression crews were able to fully extinguish the fire within 30 minutes and then conducted an extensive overhaul and salvage operation. The fire was declared under control at 8 p.m. Damage to the home was moderate and the home was able to be reoccupied by the homeowners after salvage operations were completed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time but is believed to be accidental.
