Freezing Cold Takes Hold

Merrimack School District officials release 2014 election filing period; Town Council to meet on Thursday night.

Bundle up and stay warm: While Merrimack dodged Wednesday's snow storm, town residents will find it hard to escape from the bitter cold that sent temperatures plummeting below zero overnight and has them struggling to stay above zero today.

Town Council meeting:
The Merrimack Town Council is scheduled to meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Town Offices.

School district filing period announced:
Merrimack school district officials released the school district filing period on Wednesday for the April 8 town election.

School budget presented:
Members of the Merrimack School Board presented their proposed 2014-2015 budget of more than $68.7 million to the public on Wednesday night that calls for a 2.63 percent increase over this year's school budget. The School Board held a budget hearing on Monday night and will hold more public hearings this month.
